The unique "Bald is Beautiful" Calendar was officially launched this week, for the Lilac Centre, amidst much fanfare. Celebrities and top NHS management mingled at a very posh do in St Helen's, with the Granada camera crew on hand to capture the event for "Granda Reports" which aired on Wednesday evening. The photographs have been described as "stunning" in the local press and radio. Even the wonderful Wilmslow Express jumped on the story just as the presses were about to roll and we made the front page and page 23 of this week's edition, thanks to the speedy penmanship of Karen Britton.
As the photographer for these images it's been quite a humbling experience to see the ladies gain so much confidence simply by the way they look in images and to see the photographs we produced in print and on TV! The services of Weston Digital Imaging we given free of charge and we hope now that the calendar will raise not only awareness and money for the Lilac Centre, but also to make people realise that 'Bald is certainly very beautiful.'
